Requires Medicaid to reimburse for obesity treatment services, including intensive behavioral and lifestyle treatment, metabolic and bariatric surgery, and FDA-approved anti-obesity medications

Allows intensive behavioral and lifestyle treatment services to be provided in-person (office or community-based settings) or remotely via telehealth and telemedicine

Mandates that medical necessity criteria for anti-obesity medications cannot be more restrictive than FDA-approved indications for those medications

Establishes Medicaid reimbursement for diabetes prevention program services provided by CDC-recognized suppliers to eligible recipients who have not previously participated in such a program while on Medicaid

Requires the Health and Human Services Commission to notify Medicaid recipients about the availability of obesity treatment options once implemented; takes effect immediately with two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025
