Amends Family Code Section 58.009 to modify which entities the Texas Juvenile Justice Department may share juvenile justice information with for research, statistical, or other approved purposes

Adds public and private universities to the list of entities that can receive juvenile justice information directly from the department

Removes the previous category allowing information sharing with any individual or entity working on department-approved research projects that had specific data use agreements

Streamlines the list of authorized recipients to include: criminal justice agencies, Texas Education Agency, Health and Human Services Commission agencies, Department of Family and Protective Services, and public/private universities

Effective date: September 1, 2025
