Amends Section 261.1055 of the Family Code to allow both county and district attorneys (previously only district attorneys) to request notification of child abuse or neglect reports from the Department of Family and Protective Services

Requires the department to immediately notify county or district attorneys of suspected abuse or neglect reports and forward copies upon request when the attorney has opted into the notification system

Allows county or district attorneys to request copies of abuse/neglect investigation reports and all available information when a person is arrested for specific offenses against children, including murder, capital murder, manslaughter, trafficking, sexual assault, aggravated assault, indecency with a child, injury to a child, child pornography, and related crimes

Mandates the department to provide requested investigation reports and information, including confidential records, within 30 days of the request

Protects released investigation reports from public disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act, limiting their use to criminal discovery purposes under the Code of Criminal Procedure
