Authorizes advanced practice nurses and registered nurses in the case management program for children and pregnant women to perform comprehensive needs assessments, including family needs assessments, for recipients with high-risk pregnancies

Allows nurses to conduct these assessments regardless of initial screening results, provided the assessment is within their scope of practice and incidental to nonmedical services under the program

Amends both Chapter 531 and Chapter 532 of the Government Code to add parallel provisions, with the applicable section depending on whether a separate code corrections bill becomes law

Requires state agencies to seek federal waivers or authorizations if necessary before implementing any provision of the act

Takes effect September 1, 2025
