Defines "adult member of the household" as any person 18 years or older who resides with the proposed guardian, will have regular contact with the proposed ward, or will provide care, supervision, or assistance to the proposed ward

Requires mandatory criminal history background checks for all adult household members of individuals seeking appointment as a guardian, not just the proposed guardian themselves

Directs the Texas Supreme Court to establish rules, in consultation with the commission, for performing these expanded background checks

Requires the commission to provide background check results for both the proposed guardian and all adult household members to the probate court at least 10 days before the guardian appointment hearing

Takes effect September 1, 2025
