Amends Section 71.003 of the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to add a new exemption to wrongful death claims involving an unborn child

Explicitly bars wrongful death lawsuits when the death of an unborn child is the result of an abortion, as defined under the Health and Safety Code

Maintains existing protections that already exempt the mother, licensed physicians performing lawful medical procedures with consent, persons lawfully dispensing drugs, and health care providers conducting lawful practices from wrongful death claims

Applies only to causes of action that accrue on or after the effective date; prior claims remain governed by existing law

Takes effect immediately upon receiving two-thirds vote from both legislative chambers, otherwise September 1, 2025
