Requires early voting clerks to send voters a notice of defect and corrective action form within 2 days of discovering a problem with a mail-in ballot's carrier envelope, replacing the previous optional process

Allows voters to correct ballot defects by submitting a corrective action form by mail or carrier, appearing in person at the clerk's office up to 6 days after election day, or canceling their mail-in application to vote in person

Mandates the Secretary of State develop a standardized corrective action form and an online tool enabling voters to track their ballot status and correct defects electronically when possible

Permits clerks to notify voters by telephone or email if mail delivery would not allow sufficient time to correct the defect before deadlines

Passed the Senate 31-0 on April 24, 2025, and the House 111-24 on May 5, 2025; takes effect September 1, 2025
