Requires statutory probate court judges assigned to hear contested matters (upon a party's motion under Section 32.003, Estates Code) to order the estate to reimburse the county for compensation and expenses paid to the assigned judge, to the extent possible

Mandates that assigned judges prescribe the amount and manner for equitably apportioning these costs among the estate and the parties to the proceeding

Allows counties that initially pay the $25 per day compensation for judges assigned outside their county of residence to seek reimbursement from estates and parties in probate cases

Applies only to motions for assignment of statutory probate court judges filed on or after the effective date; prior motions remain governed by existing law

Takes effect September 1, 2025
