Prohibits the use of preferential voting systems (ranked-choice voting) to determine a majority winner in elections for public office, political party office, or party nominations

Defines "preferential voting system" as any voting system that allows voters to numerically rank candidates from most favored to least favored

Requires that a candidate must receive more than half of votes "as originally cast" to win elections requiring a majority vote, without reassigning votes through ranked-choice tabulation

Establishes that this new provision supersedes any conflicting laws outside the Election Code subchapter

Takes effect September 1, 2025
