Expands existing Texas law requiring voter approval for reductions to county law enforcement agency funding to also cover prosecutors' offices, including district attorneys, criminal district attorneys, and county attorneys with criminal jurisdiction

Requires counties to hold an election before reducing appropriations to a prosecutor's office when the overall budget stays the same or increases, or before reducing the prosecutor's percentage of the total budget when overall spending decreases

Mandates voter approval before a county can reallocate funding or resources away from a prosecutor's office to another agency

Prohibits counties that implement funding cuts without required voter approval from adopting property tax rates above the no-new-revenue rate until the cuts are reversed or approved by voters

Takes effect January 1, 2026
