Increases the minimum bond requirement to $500,000 for statutory county court judges and county judges who preside over guardianship or probate proceedings, eliminating the previous tiered system based on county population

Removes the prior population-based bond structure that required $100,000 for courts in counties with 125,000 or fewer residents and $250,000 for courts in counties with more than 125,000 residents

Maintains the standard bond range of $1,000 to $10,000 for judges who do not handle guardianship or probate matters

Eliminates the exemption that previously allowed statutory county court judges who do not preside over guardianship proceedings to avoid the bond requirement

Takes effect September 1, 2025
