Prohibits individuals under 21 years of age from knowingly purchasing or possessing assault weapons, making violations a Class A misdemeanor

Defines "assault weapon" to include semiautomatic centerfire rifles with detachable magazines and features like pistol grips, folding stocks, flash suppressors, or grenade launchers; semiautomatic rifles with fixed magazines over 10 rounds or under 30 inches in length; semiautomatic shotguns with detachable magazines; semiautomatic pistols with certain features; revolving cylinder shotguns; and conversion kits

Makes it a state jail felony to sell, rent, lease, loan, or give an assault weapon to anyone under 21 years of age

Provides defenses for peace officers and members of the armed forces or state military forces acting in their official duties

Grandfathers lawful possession of assault weapons owned before August 31, 2025, as a defense to the possession offense, with the law taking effect September 1, 2025
