TX SB421

Requires peace officers to complete training programs on acquired and traumatic brain injuries (Section 1701.264) and trauma-affected veterans (Section 1701.265) as part of the minimum curriculum requirements

Mandates the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement to require all officers to complete these training programs unless they have already completed equivalent training as determined by the commission

Applies the new minimum curriculum requirements only to officers who begin satisfying those requirements on or after January 1, 2026

Directs the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement to adopt implementing rules as soon as practicable after the effective date

Takes effect September 1, 2025
