Updates the definition of "autism spectrum disorder" to align with the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition) or later editions

Preserves coverage eligibility for individuals previously diagnosed with autism, Asperger's syndrome, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified under earlier DSM editions

Applies to health benefit plans delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2026, with an effective date of September 1, 2025
