Requires all school districts and open-enrollment charter schools to adopt and implement attendance policies that inform students and parents about the importance of regular attendance and provide supports for students who fail to attend regularly

Mandates that attendance policies describe benefits of regular attendance and consequences of truancy, including negative effects on academic progress and potential referral to truancy court under Family Code Section 65.003(a)

Requires schools to offer parents the option to receive notifications of any student absence (excused or unexcused) via email, text message, or first class mail

Requires meetings between parents and school counselors, principals, or administrators when a student becomes at risk for truant conduct, and authorizes home visits by attendance officers if parents fail to attend required meetings

Schools must provide a copy of the attendance policy to parents at the beginning of each school year, with requirements taking effect for the 2025-2026 school year
