Office of Court Administration of the Texas Judicial System must conduct a study on the legal and ethical implications of allowing supporters under supported decision-making agreements to assist adults with disabilities in civil or criminal legal proceedings

Study must examine effects on attorney-client privilege and confidentiality, including whether a supporter's presence during legal consultations waives legal protections

Study must identify laws requiring amendment, evaluate best practices from other jurisdictions, and provide recommendations for statutory changes

Office may consult with Disability Rights Texas, State Bar of Texas sections (probate, legal ethics, disability law), legal aid organizations, public defenders, judiciary members, and other stakeholders

Report with findings and recommendations due to governor, lieutenant governor, speaker, and legislative committees by December 1, 2026; act takes effect September 1, 2025
