Adds "land surveyor" to the definition of parties in construction contracts under the Civil Practice and Remedies Code, alongside registered architects and licensed engineers

Makes void and unenforceable any contract provision requiring a contractor to indemnify or hold harmless a land surveyor from liability for damage caused by defects in the surveyor's plans, designs, or specifications, or by the surveyor's negligence

Establishes that land surveyors must perform services with the professional skill and care ordinarily provided by competent land surveyors practicing under similar circumstances; contract provisions setting different standards are void

Extends existing protections for architects and engineers in government contracts to land surveyors, including limitations on indemnification requirements and defense obligations against third-party claims

Applies only to contracts entered into on or after September 1, 2025; passed the Senate 30-0 on April 10, 2025, and the House 145-0 on May 20, 2025
