Study must assess existing county resources for tracking heat-related deaths, identify resources needed for prevention and reporting, and examine barriers counties face in tracking and reporting

Department must gather information on factors contributing to heat-related deaths and criteria for distinguishing heat-related deaths from other natural causes

Written report due to the governor, lieutenant governor, speaker of the house, and relevant legislative committees by December 1, 2026, including study results and legislative recommendations

Act takes effect September 1, 2025, and expires September 1, 2027
