Designates Port Aransas, located on Mustang Island along the Texas Gulf Coast, as the official Fishing Capital of Texas

The designation remains in effect for 10 years from the date the resolution is passed, in accordance with Section 391.003(e) of the Government Code

Recognizes Port Aransas for its diverse marine ecosystem offering species including red snapper, redfish, flounder, tarpon, marlin, and tuna, with opportunities for deep-sea, bay, and pier fishing

Acknowledges the city hosts prestigious fishing tournaments including the Texas Legends Billfish Tournament, Texas Women Anglers Tournament, and the Deep Sea Roundup (the oldest fishing competition on the Texas coast)

Recognizes the local fishing industry's economic contributions through charter services, bait and tackle shops, and marinas, as well as conservation efforts by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and local groups
