Texas Senate Resolution 596 honors the memory of James Albert "Dick" Hudson of White Oak, who passed away on April 26, 2025, at age 88

Hudson served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft radar technician and worked nearly four decades at Texas Eastman Company in research and development at the Longview chemical complex

He was civically active as a Republican Party precinct chair, primary election judge, and assistant general election judge at Gregg County Courthouse

Hudson was a longtime member of Woodland Christian Church and First Christian Church in Longview, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and skilled craftsman who made crosses, nativity scenes, and walking canes

The resolution extends sympathy to his wife Betty Jo Magness, daughters Shannon Sasser and Sherri Ware, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and directs the Senate to adjourn in his memory
