Texas Senate Resolution honors Neil Stewart West of Tyler, who passed away on May 1, 2025, at age 79

West served as a U.S. Air Force officer at Offutt Air Force Base for four years and was a private pilot for more than four decades

Had a 34-year banking career beginning in 1972, serving in positions including vice president of Omaha National Bank and CEO/president of The Security National Bank and Trust Company of Norman, Oklahoma; retired in 2006 as Regions Bank Texas Group president overseeing 81 locations across Texas

Active in community organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters and Rotary Club; served as adjunct professor at University of Oklahoma and member of Soules College of Business Advisory Board at UT Tyler

Survived by wife Joan of 45 years, four children, and seven grandchildren; resolution adopted by rising vote on May 31, 2025
