Memorial resolution honoring Dr. John Richard Lucas of Longview, who passed away on April 4, 2025, at age 85

Dr. Lucas practiced as an OB-GYN in Longview for 35 years, delivering approximately 5,000 babies, and served Good Shepherd Medical Center as president of medical staff, section chair, and trustee

Graduated from North Texas State University and The University of Texas at Galveston Medical School, served as a U.S. Air Force officer, and was a diplomat and fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology

After retiring in 2007, continued serving patients through Wellness Pointe Longview and Zeid Women's Health Center; was an elder for life at First Christian Church of Longview

Resolution adopted by the Texas Senate on May 31, 2025, by a rising vote, extending condolences to his wife Andee Lucas, three children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren
