Recognizes 13 students from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley who served as legislative interns during the 89th Session of the Texas Legislature

11 students participated in the Rio Grande Valley Legislative Internship Program, which places undergraduate and graduate students in legislative offices where they receive academic credit

2 students participated in the Texas Legislative Fellowship Program, a new program established by The University of Texas System for the 89th Legislative Session

Interns were placed in various legislative offices including those of Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Senator Judith Zaffirini, Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa, Senator Adam Hinojosa, and multiple state representatives
