Memorial resolution honoring Joshua Daniel King of Weatherford, who passed away on April 5, 2025, at age 37 after a battle with brain cancer

King was born December 29, 1987, graduated from Trinity Christian Academy, earned a bachelor's degree in business from Dallas Baptist University (where he played tennis), and later obtained an MBA

He had a successful business career as partner at Steergate Payment Solutions, held positions at Call Box and Four Seasons Hotels as a tennis coach, and served as CEO and executive vice president of Select Mat

King is survived by his wife Sarah, daughter Katelyn, parents State Senator Phil King and Terry King, grandmother Barbara King, and five sisters with their families

The Texas Senate adopted the resolution on June 2, 2025, by a rising vote, with the Senate adjourning that day in his memory
