Texas Senate Resolution honoring Doris Geneva Walters of Texarkana, who passed away on March 22, 2025, at age 100

Walters enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951, served as a recruiter and in a high-security radio section, received the Air Force Commendation Medal, served overseas in Germany, and retired in 1971 at the rank of master sergeant

Before military service, she worked as a riveter in Fort Worth and as a lab technician at a rubber manufacturing facility in Borger after graduating high school at age 16

After her military career, she worked nine years as a clerk typist in North Carolina before returning to Atlanta, Texas in 1980 to care for her mother and two aunts

Resolution adopted by rising vote on June 1, 2025, directs that an official copy be prepared for her family and that the Senate adjourn in her memory
