Memorial resolution honoring James Edward Hanlon of Tyler, Texas, who passed away on April 4, 2025, at age 91

Hanlon was born June 30, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, and served as a military policeman during the Korean War before completing his degree at St. John's University

Career highlights included serving as controller of the New York Yankees Baseball Club beginning in 1967, vice president of Viacom Inc., president of Suffolk Cablevision, and founder of MCT Cablevision Inc. in 1981

He was married to his wife Joyce for 54 years and had three children and six grandchildren; he served as an usher at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler

Adopted by the Texas Senate on June 1, 2025, by a rising vote, with an official copy to be prepared for his family
