Adds microplastics and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on farmland as a high-priority research and extension area under the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990

Authorizes research grants for studying agricultural impacts of microplastics and PFAS in land-applied biosolids and compost, including structural firefighting foam contamination

Research areas include surveying contaminant concentrations, developing filtration and biodegradation techniques for wastewater treatment, and analyzing impacts on crops, livestock, and soil health

Supports studies on fate, residence time, and transport of these substances on farmland, as well as remediation methods for contaminated soil and water systems

Extends authorization for high-priority research and extension initiatives from 2023 to 2031
