SNAP benefits would be restricted to purchasing "American food products" defined as foods grown, harvested, or produced in the U.S. and processed/manufactured with at least 51% domestically-sourced ingredients

Exemptions allowed when specific food items are not commercially available in sufficient quantities or quality domestically, or when the Secretary of Agriculture determines compliance would create undue burden on SNAP households due to cost or regional availability

SNAP-authorized retailers must make reasonable efforts to stock American food products and report on compliance efforts; noncompliance may result in warnings, corrective action requirements, or suspension of SNAP authorization

Secretary of Agriculture required to maintain and regularly update a list of exempted foods, establish compliance regulations, conduct a public awareness campaign, and perform annual reviews of economic impact and effectiveness

Effective date is 1 year after enactment to allow for retailer adaptation and public education
