Maximum reimbursement per examination capped at $500 or the actual cost charged, whichever is less

Entitlement charged against benefits is calculated by dividing exam cost by the veteran's monthly benefit rate, minimizing impact on overall education benefits

Using VA benefits for these exams does not affect separate Department of Defense Tuition Assistance Program entitlements
