Architect of the Capitol must create the "Semiquincentennial Congressional Time Capsule" to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States

Contents determined jointly by the Speaker of the House, House Minority Leader, Senate Majority Leader, and Senate Minority Leader, including semiquincentennial-related materials, copies of important legislative milestones, and a message to future Congress

Time capsule must be sealed and buried on the West Lawn of the Capitol on or before July 4, 2026, with a plaque installed providing information about it

Capsule remains sealed until July 4, 2276 (250 years later), when the Speaker of the House will present it to the 244th Congress to determine how contents should be preserved or used
