Arlington Memorial Bridge would be co-designated as the "United States–Mexican War Memorial" while retaining its official name and transportation functions, administered by the National Park Service

Secretary of the Interior may install limited commemorative elements including interpretive signage, plaques, and landscaping at or adjacent to the bridge to honor participants in the 1846-1848 war and explain the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

No federal funds may be used for the commemorative enhancements; all costs must be covered by private donations and in-kind contributions

Commemorative elements must comply with the National Historic Preservation Act and National Environmental Policy Act, and cannot alter the bridge's historic character or interfere with existing memorials

Certain provisions of the Commemorative Works Act are waived, including site selection requirements, since the designation uses an existing federal site in the National Capital region
