Secretary of Veterans Affairs must submit a report to Congress within one year on the incidence and prevalence of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) among veterans, developed in consultation with the CDC Director

Report must include assessment of current ALS rates in veterans, description of existing VA and CDC resources and support, identification of deficiencies, and strategies for risk reduction and clinical trial participation

VA is required to track ALS prevalence in veterans using the CDC's ALS registry and biorepository

Follow-up reports must be submitted every three years after the initial report with updated prevalence data and progress information

Report must include legislative recommendations to address challenges in lowering ALS incidence among veterans
