Requires new fixed route buses (30+ feet in length with 10+ year useful life) purchased with federal funds to include protective barriers around operator workstations

Barriers must extend from floor to ceiling, fully enclose the workstation to prevent entry of persons, fluids, and objects, and not obstruct the operator's exterior sightlines

Requirements take effect 2 years after enactment and apply to buses purchased through federal transit programs (excluding Section 5311 rural transit funds)

Labor organizations representing the majority of frontline workers may waive the barrier requirement for specific bus purchases

Amends Section 5329 of Title 49 (Public Transportation Safety Program) to add these operator workstation standards
