Founded the Algebra Project in 1982 using a MacArthur Fellowship, which has helped more than 40,000 students in hundreds of schools develop math literacy skills

Directs the Secretary of the Treasury to strike the gold medal and authorizes sale of bronze duplicates at cost, with proceeds deposited into the U.S. Mint Public Enterprise Fund

Designates Maisha Moses, his daughter, as the authorized recipient of the medal following the posthumous presentation
