Federal law enforcement officers may only use deadly force when reasonably necessary to prevent imminent death or serious bodily injury to themselves or another person.

Deadly force is explicitly prohibited solely to prevent a fleeing suspect's escape, disable a moving vehicle, or against individuals threatening only themselves or property.

Officers must provide verbal warnings before using deadly force when practicable and when doing so would not increase danger.

Warning shots are prohibited except within federal prisons.

The Attorney General must develop training for federal law enforcement on tactics for situations where deadly force is restricted under this act.
