Chordoma is a slow-growing but aggressive bone cancer of the skull and spine affecting more than 25,000 people worldwide, with approximately 300 new diagnoses annually in the United States

Treatment is complicated by tumor involvement with critical structures including the brain stem, spinal cord, nerves, and arteries; recurrence rates remain high even with optimal care

No drugs currently exist to cure or effectively control chordoma, leaving patients with few options after surgery and radiation are exhausted

Expresses the sense of the House that chordoma patients and families need increased funding and support for accurate early diagnosis, new treatments and cures, reduced barriers between research and treatments, and patient-centric drug development approaches
