House Resolution commends Jason Owens on his retirement as the 26th Chief of the United States Border Patrol after 29 years of service

Owens began his career in 1996 in the El Centro sector, completed BORTAC and Search, Trauma and Rescue Team training in 2001, and held leadership positions across multiple sectors including Grand Forks, Rio Grande Valley, Laredo, Houlton, and Del Rio

He became Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol on July 2, 2023, and established the Targeting and Investigations Division to combat cartel activity

Owens expanded the U.S. Border Patrol Resiliency Division to provide physical and mental health support for agents and staff

Resolution acknowledges his exemplary leadership and faithfulness in executing his duties throughout his career
