Hundreds of Coptic Christian women and girls have been abducted, forcibly converted, abused, and forcibly married, with Egyptian authorities failing to meaningfully intervene or prosecute perpetrators

The resolution acknowledges the U.S.-Egypt partnership and appreciates Egypt's role in combating terrorism and violent extremism

Urges the Egyptian government to ensure Coptic Christians receive equal rights as all other Egyptian citizens

Calls on Egypt to end impunity for attacks on Christians by pursuing arrest, prosecution, and conviction of perpetrators, and to hold accountable government officials who fail to enforce the law
