Consumer Product Safety Commission must establish mandatory safety standards for covered gates (automatic vehicular gates, manual vehicular gates, and gates over 48 inches wide or 84+ inches tall) within 1 year of enactment

Covered gates must comply with ASTM F900-25, ASTM F1184-23e1, or ASTM F2200-24 standards as applicable, and gates with operators must meet ANSI/CAN/UL 325 safety standards

Revised voluntary standards automatically become mandatory 180 days after CPSC notification, unless the Commission determines within 90 days that the revision does not improve safety

CPSC must launch a national education campaign within 2 years to inform the public, manufacturers, contractors, and building officials about gate dangers and prevention methods, followed by a report to Congress within 3 years
