Releases approximately 81,000 acres of the Middle Fork Judith Wilderness Study Area from wilderness study designation under the Montana Wilderness Study Act of 1977

Releases approximately 11,380 acres of the Hoodoo Mountain Wilderness Study Area and 11,580 acres of the Wales Creek Wilderness Study Area from wilderness study designation under the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976

Directs released Forest Service lands to be managed under the most recently adopted forest management plan, and released BLM lands under applicable land management plans

Forest Service studies (1979-1986, reaffirmed 2021) and BLM studies (1991, reaffirmed 2020) determined these specific areas unsuitable for wilderness designation

Intended to enable enhanced sportsmen access, improved public access, wildlife habitat projects, and wildfire mitigation activities on the released lands
