Remarriage no longer bars surviving spouses of veterans from receiving Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) benefits under sections 1311 or 1562 of title 38

Surviving spouses of servicemembers who died on active duty may continue receiving Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) annuity payments regardless of remarriage

Surviving spouses who remarried before age 55 and before the Act's enactment will have SBP annuity payments resumed one year after enactment, or immediately if they had transferred the annuity to surviving children

TRICARE eligibility expands to include remarried widows or widowers whose subsequent marriage ended due to death, divorce, or annulment
