North Korea abducted Japanese citizens beginning in the 1970s, admitted to the abductions in September 2002, and returned only 5 abductees in October 2002 after 24 years of captivity

Calls on North Korea to release any abducted foreign nationals still held, including those from Japan

Urges North Korea to return remains and provide information on deceased abductees, make appropriate reparations, and issue an apology

Demands North Korea permanently cease abduction activities

Encourages the President to address this issue in any future interactions with North Korean officials
