Health facilities (operating rooms, emergency departments, ambulatory surgical facilities) may offer unused portions of facility-provided medications to patients upon discharge if needed for continued treatment

Facility-provided medications covered include topical antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drops/ointments, dilation drops, and glaucoma drops/ointments

Medications must be labeled in compliance with the Pharmacy Practice Act, and facilities must provide counseling on proper use and administration

Standard pharmacist counseling requirements do not apply to facility-provided medications dispensed under this section
