Counties, municipalities, and homeowner associations are prohibited from preventing property owners from removing vegetation on property located within designated wildland-urban interface areas when removal is required to comply with defensible space requirements under the International Wildland Urban Interface Code.

The bill defines "wildland-urban interface" by reference to the International Wildland Urban Interface Code as adopted under Utah Code Section 15A-2-103.

Amends three sections of Utah Code: Section 10-20-619 (municipal landscaping regulations), Section 17-79-615 (county landscaping regulations), and Section 57-8a-218 (homeowner association rules and design criteria).

No money is appropriated in the bill.

Effective date is May 6, 2026.
