Extends prescription refill validity from one year to two years from the original issue date, allowing patients to refill authorized prescriptions for a longer period

Removes the requirement that pharmacists notify prescribers when substituting a therapeutically similar drug product for prescriptions intended to last longer than 30 days

Authorizes the Department of Health and Human Services to issue standing prescription drug orders only when limited to a clearly defined clinical indication, for FDA-approved diagnoses, and when clinically appropriate

Takes effect on May 6, 2026
