Middle school students may take devices home only with written parental opt-in consent; high school students may take devices home unless parents opt out

Educators prohibited from using generative AI to independently grade student work or make high-stakes determinations; students prohibited from using generative AI for academic work unless specifically authorized by an educator

Public high schools may offer optional AI sandbox courses for grades 9-12 in career and technical education settings, requiring written parental consent and compliance with data privacy laws
