Eliminates the requirement for firearm purchasers to provide written consent on a Bureau of Criminal Identification form containing personal information (dealer ID, name, address, date of birth, physical description, and identification numbers)

Extends the maximum time the Bureau of Criminal Identification may retain criminal history background check records from 20 days to 30 days for approved firearm purchases

Maintains existing requirements that dealers must receive bureau approval before completing a firearm sale and must request background checks by telephone or electronic means

Takes effect on May 6, 2026
