Reports on child welfare fatalities and near-fatalities provided to the Child Welfare Legislative Oversight Panel and Health and Human Services Interim Committee chairs may only have surnames and addresses redacted, rather than all identifying information

The department must provide fatality review reports and responses to both the Health and Human Services Interim Committee and the Child Welfare Legislative Oversight Panel by September 1 each year

Fatality review documents remain protected from discovery, subpoena, and use as evidence in civil, judicial, or administrative proceedings

Amends Utah Code sections 26B-1-506 and 26B-1-507, with an effective date of May 6, 2026
