Allows Utah schools to provide legal awareness information to 10th grade students beginning with the 2026-27 school year, covering rights and responsibilities that apply upon reaching the age of majority

Required topics include voting rights, jury duty, selective service registration, contract rights, medical decision-making authority, credit and debt obligations, tax filing, employment rights, criminal justice system consequences, and rights during law enforcement interactions

Schools may deliver the information through existing coursework, dedicated presentations or assemblies, written materials, digital resources, or any combination as the local governing board determines appropriate

LEAs that choose to provide the materials must ensure information is current, accurate, age-appropriate, and accessible to all students

Does not require creation of new courses, student testing, or specific delivery methods, and does not create a private right of action; effective May 6, 2026
