Administrative Office of the Courts must report all animal cruelty convictions to the Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) quarterly, including offender name, birth date, address, and specific offense

Animal control officers must notify DCFS when they receive reports of animal abuse involving a child in the same home, observe child safety concerns during animal investigations, or take serious enforcement action in homes with children

DCFS caseworkers investigating child abuse or neglect may report concerns of animal abuse or neglect to local animal control or law enforcement

DCFS may notify local animal control authorities when supporting a finding of child abuse or neglect if an animal is present in the home

Veterinarian employers are prohibited from preventing or penalizing licensed veterinarians who report suspected animal cruelty
